After coming through the academy set up at Brentford, Chris Mepham made his professional debut in 2017. Mepham began 2018/19 as Brentford’s first-choice central defender as well as making his international debut for Wales against China in March 2018. In January 2019, Mepham signed for premier league club AFC Bournemouth and has since made numerous appearances as well as scoring against Sheffield United on the opening weekend of the 2019/20 premier league season.

Despite a knee injury ruling him out for much of the second half of the 2019/20 season, Mepham recovered to become a key member of the Bournemouth side that reached the EFL Championship Play Off Final in 2021, playing 24 times. This form earned Mepham a spot in the Wales squad for Euro 2020 tournament, where he made 3 appearances.
