Join us in #5k May!

This month, as you might have already seen on our social media, we’ve teamed up with the creators of the viral lockdown 5K challenge, Run For Heroes, to bring you #5kMay!

If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that the smallest things can make the biggest impact. What started as a plan to raise £5,000 for NHS charities at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, went completely viral on social media. It became a major fitness motivation and fundraising tool for more than a million people.

Since its humble beginnings in 2020, Run For Heroes has raised more than £7 million for NHS Charities. After the success of the original fundraiser, the nation is once again being encouraged to get active as lockdown restrictions continue to ease, raising funds this year for a wider number of charities, including ours! So everyone is invited to take part, including Sporting Wellness supporters.
It’s not just about running though – simply choose your preferred activity. All that matters is getting your body moving and raising vital funds for charity.

How it works

  1. Choose your 5k activity – you can run, walk, cycle, swim, hop – socially distanced of course!
  2. Complete your 5k anytime during May 2021
  3. Donate £5 to Sporting Wellness
  4. You could also nominate five of your friends to take part too, remembering to tag us our Instagram, Twitter or Facebook

Rewards

Once you’ve donated £5 you’ll unlock a goodie bag packed full of rewards and treats from popular brands!

Get involved as a team!

Why not mobilise your sports club, Uni, friends or colleagues to get involved too? It’s the perfect opportunity to get a group together (probably partly virtually of course) and encourage them to take part in a 5k too!

You’re one step closer to doing good, by giving back and keeping fit!

If you’d like to get involved in 5kMay, either by yourself or with a team, sign up for the event

With famous faces like Mo Farah, Ellie Goulding and even Prime Minister Boris Johnson backing previous Run For Heroes challenges, you may even spot a celebrity while out on your 5kMay journey.

We’re all in this together

If you don’t want to commit to a challenge, you can get involved by making a donation. Every £1 helps us to help others. Thank you.

Note: Please consult your doctor before starting a new programme of physical activity and always exercise in line with government guidance on social distancing.
